Assranda expands grading and packing capacity in Kigali

Additional grading capacity brings weekly throughput in line with committed buyer programmes.

Assranda Group Ltd has completed an expansion of its grading and packing line in Kigali, adding extra intake tables, a second pre-cooling room and expanded carton storage. The upgrade raises weekly throughput to match the buyer programmes already committed for the 2026/27 season.

The expansion was planned around the specific products in our programme: French beans, which move through grading fastest; chillies, which need shade and careful handling; and avocados, which require dry-matter testing and ripening staging before packing.

All new capacity operates under the same quality and traceability rules as the existing line: every carton coded, every shift logged, and every consignment traceable back to the plot it came from. The facility is now ready for the peak weeks from October through March.
